This way we like to introduce you to our clinic and outline the facilities, philosophy and services we offer. The site will try to answer most of your questions. It will display a lot of interesting information for pet owners of all kind, it has links to other interesting and informative sites, gives advice on what to do in Emergency - First Aid, provides some direct First Aid Course and helps you with correct and updated information on Travel Information. On top of this, there will be a special place for those who have found a pet or have a furry family member missing. Dr. Ellens own daughters (Bo and Nova) thought it time for children to be more involved in the care of animals in need and found a listening ear with their friends. Together they have come up with the ABVC Rangers, a group of children providing shelter and care via the ABVC Clinic and their own homes, stabilizing the battered animals and bringing awareness amongst their peers. Dont sit around when you can make such a difference with so little effort! Normally ABVCs Pet of the Month is a cute, cuddly critter who has stolen the hearts of the nursing team. This month, due to our recent charity work with the stray cat population, we thought it would be nice to show you the other side of what we deal with at the clinic. Meet Brown Tabby. She doesnt really have a name, as she doesnt have an owner, and more importantly is not looking for an owner! She lives in a warehouse and is fed by the office workers. They love her, however she has never let them touch her, stroke her or hold her. She is completely wild and aggressive. Although she is fed by the warehouse employees, this is the extent of her human contact. Without knowing her full history, it is easy to assume that she was born on the streets and never been a family pet. The warehouse employees used a cat trap to catch her and bring her to the clinic for us to sterilize her. It was very difficult getting her out of the trap and into a clinic cage, however with thick gloves (to avoid being bitten!), we managed. She was very quick and very defensive which is completely understandable! Her surgery was routine, and without any complications. She was released the following day back to the warehouse. Many of the stray cats that we have spayed and neutered over the past two months have been just as feral as her. By spaying her, we have helped to control the stray cat population here in Dubai.
